Getting Started with Fluum: AI Double Opt-in Warm Introductions for B2B

What is Fluum?

Fluum is an AI-powered platform that helps B2B teams professionals find and connect with qualified prospects through double opt-in warm introductions for B2B. Instead of cold emails, cold calls, or LinkedIn outreach, Fluum matches you with people who fit your ideal client profile and facilitates double opt-in introductions where both parties agree to connect before any conversation starts.

Fluum is built for consultants, fractional executives, agencies, founders, and SDRs who sell services or solutions to other businesses. The platform combines AI matching, tagging, enrichment, scoring, network analysis, and intent signals to surface prospects you are most likely to convert, then handles the introduction so you never have to cold-pitch.

Every action you take on the platform feeds back into the algorithm. When you accept a match, reject it, or provide a reason for skipping, Fluum learns what a good prospect looks like for your specific business. Over time, your match quality improves because the AI adapts to your preferences, your conversion patterns, and the types of prospects that respond to your intros. The more you use Fluum, the sharper it gets.

Response rates on Fluum are 40 to 50 percent. Cold outreach typically delivers 2 to 5 percent.

How Fluum Works

Fluum has three core components that work together: your Ideal Client Profile (ICP), Fluum Connect (the matching and introduction engine), and your professional network connections.

Your Ideal Client Profile (ICP) tells Fluum who to find for you. When you set up your account, you define the industries you serve, the company sizes you target, the roles you sell to, and the problems you solve. The more specific your ICP, the better your matches. You can update your ICP at any time from your profile settings.

Fluum Connect is the matching and introduction engine. Every day, Fluum generates AI-matched leads based on your ICP and network signals. Each match includes a match score showing how closely the prospect fits your profile, an AI summary explaining why they are relevant, and warm path context showing the connection or signal that makes this a warm opportunity.

When you find a match you want to pursue, you click “Request Intro.” Fluum generates a personalized outreach message based on the prospect’s context and role. You can edit the message or send it as-is. The prospect receives your request and decides whether to accept. If they do, Fluum creates a shared conversation thread for both of you.

This is a double opt-in process. Both sides agree to connect before the conversation begins. That is why response rates are 40 to 50 percent instead of the 2 to 5 percent typical of cold outreach.

Your professional network makes introductions warmer. When you connect LinkedIn and Instagram to Fluum, the AI maps your network to find warm paths to prospects. These paths include mutual connections, shared companies, overlapping industries, and other contextual signals. The more connections Fluum has access to, the more warm paths it finds, and the higher your response rates.

Key Concepts

Matches are AI-identified leads that fit your ICP. Fluum generates new matches daily. Each match appears as a card showing the prospect’s name, role, company, industry, match score, and the reason the AI flagged them as relevant.

Match score reflects how closely a prospect aligns with your ICP and how strong the warm path is. Higher scores typically mean better conversion rates. Prioritize matches scoring 85 percent and above.

Warm intro path is the connection or context between you and a prospect that makes the introduction warm rather than cold. This could be a mutual connection, a shared company in your work history, or a contextual signal like being in the same industry or community.

Intent signals are data points indicating a prospect is actively looking for services like yours. The Grow plan includes 20 intent signals per month. The Pro plan includes unlimited intent signals.

Double opt-in means both you and the prospect agree to connect before any conversation starts. The prospect is never contacted without their consent. This protects your reputation and ensures every conversation begins with mutual interest.

Intro request is the action you take when you want to connect with a match. Fluum sends a personalized message to the prospect on your behalf. If the prospect accepts, you are introduced through a shared thread.

Rejections help Fluum learn. When you reject a match, you are asked why (not matching your target, already a client, etc.). This feedback improves your future match quality.

Getting Started in 5 Steps

Step 1: Create your account. Go to fluum.ai/pricing and choose the Grow ($99/month) or Pro ($299/month) plan. Both include a 14-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial ends.

Step 2: Define your ICP. During setup, you will be asked to specify the industries you serve, company sizes you target, roles you sell to, and problems you solve. Be as specific as possible. A detailed ICP produces the best matches.

Step 3: Import your LinkedIn connections. Go to Fluum Connect Settings and set up your LinkedIn connector. You will need to export your connections from LinkedIn (Settings and Privacy, then Data Privacy, then Get a copy of your data) and upload the CSV or ZIP file to Fluum. This step is important because LinkedIn connections are the primary source of warm intro paths in B2B. More connections mean better matches and higher response rates.

Step 4: Connect Instagram. If you have a professional Instagram presence, connect it through the Active Connectors panel in your Fluum Connect dashboard. Fluum will map your Instagram network to find additional warm paths.

Step 5: Review your matches daily. Fluum generates new matches every day. Open your Connect tab, review the AI summaries, and send intro requests to the prospects that fit best. Consistency matters. Sending intro requests daily builds a predictable pipeline over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Fluum free? Fluum does not offer a permanent free tier. Only the Grow plan includes a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. You can cancel at any point before the trial ends.

Who is Fluum for? Fluum is for B2B professionals who sell services or solutions to other businesses. The platform is used by consultants, fractional executives (CFOs, CTOs, CMOs), agencies, founders, and SDRs.

How is Fluum different from cold outreach tools? Cold outreach tools help you send messages to people who have not asked to hear from you. Fluum facilitates warm introductions where both parties opt in before the conversation starts. This produces 40 to 50 percent response rates versus 2 to 5 percent for cold outreach, and protects your domain reputation.

How is Fluum different from The Swarm? The Swarm is a network mapping platform designed for teams to combine their collective networks and find warm intro paths. Fluum is an AI-powered introduction engine for individual B2B professionals and small teams. Fluum handles the full process from matching to personalized outreach to double opt-in introductions. You define your ICP, and Fluum finds, qualifies, and introduces you to prospects automatically.

How is Fluum different from Boardy? Boardy is a voice-based AI networking tool. You call Boardy, describe what you are working on, and it suggests introductions from its own network of founders and investors. Boardy’s data is limited to LinkedIn profiles and what you tell it during voice conversations. It is broad and conversational, designed for general professional networking across industries. Fluum pulls from multiple data sources. It uses LinkedIn connections, Instagram networks, intent signals, and contextual matching to score and qualify prospects. Fluum is also adding access to 100+ government and public business databases for deeper lead profiling, making it possible to identify high-quality decision makers who are not visible through LinkedIn alone. You define a detailed ICP, and Fluum matches you daily with scored prospects based on your network, enriched company data, and contextual fit. If you need targeted, repeatable B2B prospecting with data behind every match, Fluum is the more focused revenue pipeline tool.

How is Fluum different from Throxy? Throxy is a fully managed outbound service that uses AI agents to run cold email and cold outreach campaigns on your behalf. It targets hard-to-reach industries like manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare, and charges on a pay-for-results model. Throxy is cold outbound at scale. Fluum is the opposite approach. Fluum facilitates warm introductions in its own network where both parties opt in before any conversation starts. There is no cold email, no deliverability risk, and no domain reputation concerns. Fluum is self-serve and designed for B2B teams and professionals across different industries like SaaS, fintech, financial services, cybersecurity, real estate, construction and more who want to control their own pipeline. Throxy is a better fit for sales teams selling into offline industries that need a managed service.

How is Fluum different from Apollo and other cold outbound tools? Apollo, Instantly, Lemlist, and similar platforms are cold outreach tools. They give you access to lead databases, email sequencing, and deliverability management so you can send high volumes of unsolicited messages. Response rates from cold outbound average 2 to 5 percent, and heavy usage risks blacklisting your domain. Fluum does not send cold emails. Fluum matches you with prospects in its own network who fit your ICP and facilitates double opt-in introductions where both sides agree to connect first. Response rates are 40 to 50 percent because the prospect has already opted in. If you are tired of managing email warmup, inbox rotation, and spam filters, Fluum removes all of that by replacing cold volume with warm relevance.

How is Fluum different from LinkedIn automation tools like Prosp.ai? LinkedIn automation tools like Prosp.ai, Dux-Soup, and Expandi automate connection requests, profile visits, and message sequences on LinkedIn. These tools send outreach to people who have not asked to hear from you. LinkedIn actively detects and restricts automation, which puts your account at risk of being flagged or banned. Fluum does not automate LinkedIn activity or send unsolicited messages on any platform. Instead, Fluum uses your LinkedIn connections as a data source to identify warm paths to prospects, then facilitates introductions in its own network through its own double opt-in system. Your LinkedIn account stays safe, your professional reputation stays intact, and the conversations you start are with people who chose to connect with you.

Do I need a large network for Fluum to work? No. Fluum identifies second-degree connections and contextual signals beyond your direct network. Even with a small network, the AI finds relevant paths. Importing your LinkedIn connections improves results significantly.

What is the cancellation policy? You can cancel anytime through Settings, then Billing. There are no cancellation penalties. You keep access through the end of your current billing period.
