Fluum connects you with the right people through warm introductions. Unlike cold outreach, warm introductions involve a real person on the other side reviewing your request and responding in their own time. This guide walks you through what happens after you request an intro and what to expect along the way.
What happens to your introductions step by step

1. We match you with the right person Our algorithm identifies people who are actively looking for what you offer based on real intent signals. Every match is scored and ranked before it reaches your dashboard.
2. You request an intro When you click “Get Intro”, we send a personalised introduction to the other person on your behalf. The message explains who you are and why you are a good fit for each other. You do not need to write anything.
3. They review the introduction The other person receives the introduction directly in their inbox, messages, or phone depending on where they are reachable. They are real professionals with full schedules, and reading and responding to an introduction takes thought. Give them the time to do it properly.
4. They accept and you connect Once they accept, you both receive a notification and their contact details are shared with you. From there, you take the conversation wherever makes sense, whether that is a call, a message, or a meeting.
Common questions
-
I requested an intro and haven’t heard back. Is something wrong?
No. No reply does not mean the introduction failed. Most responses on Fluum arrive within 14 to 30 days. The other person is a real professional reviewing the intro when they have time. They have not rejected you, they are just busy. If you are past 30 days with no update, contact our support team and we will look into it for you.
-
How do I know my intro was actually sent?
Once you click “Get Intro”, the status on that match changes to Intro requested in your dashboard. That status confirms the introduction was sent successfully. You do not need to do anything else. If you do not see the status update, refresh your page or contact support.
-
What if I am not sure the match is right for me?
Every match is based on the information in your profile and the intent signals we detect from the other person. If a match does not feel right, use the Reject button and our algorithm learns from that to improve future matches. The more you engage with your matches, the better your results get over time.
Tip: The most common reason for off-target matches is an incomplete profile description. Head to your settings and make sure your target client description is as specific as possible. -
What happens after both sides accept, what do I do next?
Once the intro is accepted, you will receive a notification with the other person’s contact details. The next step is yours. We recommend reaching out within 48 hours while the intro is fresh. A short, direct message works best. Introduce yourself briefly, reference the Fluum introduction, and suggest a specific time to connect.
Tip: Ask our AI assistant to draft your opening message. Go to your dashboard and type “Draft an opening message for my new intro” and it will write one for you in seconds.
-
Does Fluum follow up if the person does not reply?
Yes. Once your intro is sent we do not leave it at a single message. We follow up automatically every 3 business days across multiple channels depending on where the other person is reachable. That includes email, LinkedIn, Instagram, and SMS or WhatsApp where we have their consent. You do not need to do anything. Every follow-up is sent on your behalf and is personalised to feel like a natural continuation of the introduction, not a generic chase.
Good to know: Most responses on Fluum come after a follow-up rather than the first message. Silence after day one is completely normal. We keep working in the background so you do not have to.
-
Can a match reject my introduction?
Yes. If someone declines your introduction, you will see their feedback directly in your Connect dashboard. Most of the time it has nothing to do with you. They are busy, they already chose another solution, or the timing is off. Occasionally the feedback is genuinely useful. Someone might say your branding does not resonate with them, your offer is unclear, your positioning feels too generic, or they cannot tell quickly enough what problem you solve. When that happens, treat it as free market research. One rejection means nothing. Three saying the same thing means something worth fixing.
Tip: Check your rejection feedback regularly in the Connect dashboard. If you see the same reason appearing more than twice, update your profile description to address it directly.
