The First-Time Customer Listing Automation lets you create a special offering that is only available to new customers.
When this automation is turned on:
- A new contact (not yet in your CRM) can see and book the service or content.
- An existing contact (someone whose details already live in your CRM) cannot book this listing.
This helps you run introductory offers, trial sessions, or welcome content exclusively for first-timers without giving discounts or free sessions to returning clients.
Why Use It?
- Attract new customers – give them a low-barrier way to try your service.
- Protect revenue – prevent existing customers from reusing first-time perks.
- Automate control – no need to manually check who qualifies; Fluum does it for you.
- Grow your funnel – convert curious visitors into long-term clients.
How It Works
- Create your listing → add title, description, and price (if any).
- Toggle on “First-Time Only” in the automation settings.
- System checks CRM records:
- If the person’s email or phone number does not exist in your CRM → booking allowed.
- If the person’s details already exist → booking blocked, and they see a message (e.g., “This offer is only for new customers”).
Example Use Cases
- Introductory Yoga Class: First session free for brand-new students.
- Discovery Call for Coaching: Only people who haven’t spoken to you before can book.
- Exclusive Content Access: A first-time ebook download only available once.
Best Practices
- Be clear in your listing description that this is a new customer-only offer.
- Collect both email and phone to ensure accurate CRM matching.
- Pair with a follow-up automation to nurture these new leads into regular customers.
FAQs
Q: What happens if an existing customer tries to book?

Q: Can I customize the rejection message?
Yes. You can edit the text shown to existing customers under Listing Settings → Customer Restrictions.
Q: Does this apply to group bookings?
Yes. If the main contact on the booking is already in your CRM, the system will block the booking.
Q: Can I later allow returning customers?
Yes. Simply toggle off the automation, and the listing becomes available to everyone.
